Cynergy Bank, the specialist lender for business owners, property entrepreneurs and family businesses, is pleased to announce that it has been given a Carbon Neutral Plus certificate.
Carbon Neutral Plus certification, awarded by Carbon Footprint Ltd means that the bank has achieved net-zero CO2 emissions by balancing its carbon emissions with carbon removal. Following its 2019 carbon footprint independent assessment, which showed a carbon reduction of 286T reflecting more than a 50% improvement from 2018, Cynergy Bank has now offset its entire carbon footprint by investing in tree planting in both the UK and in the Amazon Rainforest.
The report from Carbon Footprint Ltd confirms that Cynergy Bank has achieved its target to reduce emissions by 20% (it achieved just over 50%). The reduction was due to a number of initiatives taken across the business with a whole team approach to managing this important issue proactively.
Greg Jones, Managing Director, Property Finance & Bridging who led the initiative at Cynergy Bank commented: “We are delighted with this achievement. Our switch to renewable electricity will see us reduce our carbon footprint further this year, keeping us at the forefront within our sector. The team are committed to making a real difference today and tomorrow to protect all our futures.
Cynergy Bank now has a positive effect on the environment as our investment not only offsets our carbon emissions, it also fights climate change and helps preserve wildlife habitats. Climate change remains a global crisis and we are determined to do our bit,” he added.
